The Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championship invites the top seniors in the country to compete — eight dunkers and eight men’s and eight women’s three-point shooters.
Ingersoll is currently leading the NCAA in three-point field-goal percentage (43.6 percent, 82 of 188, rankings as of March 11) and is tied for 15th in three-point field goals made (2.7). The fourth-year Rocket has made at least three triples in 15 games this season (18 occasions in career), including a season-best five treys on five occasions.
The event will be televised nationally on ESPN from 9 to 11 p.m. leading into Final Four weekend, and it will air several additional times throughout the weekend.
Past participants and champions who are playing in the NBA include Aaron Brooks, Dahntay Jones, Steve Nash, Wes Matthews, Sonny Weems, Jason Maxiell and Kyle Korver.
Following the men’s and women’s competitions, the winner from each event will participate in a Battle of the Champions to crown an overall three-point winner.
