Carlson Library is hosting their second annual Anime Festival on Thursday, March 14, in the Main Event Space on the first floor of the library.
This year’s lineup:
• 11 a.m. — “Mob Psycho 100.” Shigeo Kageyama is a powerful psychic — and also a quiet and friendless middle school student who keeps his emotions at bay so his psychic powers don’t grow out of control. Under the tutelage of a con man pretending to be a psychic himself, Shigeo grows as a person, but there are psychic enemies who are threatening his town and his family that only he is strong enough to confront.
• 11:30 a.m. — “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.” Alchemist Edward Elric and his brother, Alphonse, search for the Philosopher’s Stone, a powerful and mysterious alchemical substance, to recover the bodies they lost in an alchemical transmutation gone wrong.
• Noon — “Skip and Loafer.” Mitsumi is a small-town girl with big dreams who moves to Tokyo to attend high school. Navigating classes and after-school activities is one thing, but navigating new friendships and romance is an even bigger challenge.
• 12:30 p.m. — “Millennium Actress.” Two documentary filmmakers interview a retired legendary actress who has become a recluse. As she tells them about her life, the borders between the present, the past, reality and film begin to blur.
