Toledo (24-8, 13-5 MAC) finished in second-place in the Mid-American Conference and was the MAC Tournament runner-up, defeating Central Michigan and Buffalo before falling to Ball State in the title game. Toledo will make its 24th appearance in a national postseason tournament in program history.
First-year Head Coach Ginny Boggess will make her third-straight appearance in a postseason tournament, her third in four years as a head coach. She led Monmouth to the 2023 NCAA Tournament and the 2024 WNIT second round.
Now in its second season, the WBIT is a 32-team, single-elimination tournament owned and operated by the NCAA. The 2025 semifinals and championship game will be Monday, March 31, and Wednesday, April 2, at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Illinois won the inaugural tournament in 2024.
