First-year and senior students can help shape the future of The University of Toledo by participating in the National Survey of Student Engagement.

Administered every three years, the survey provides UToledo with important information on how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending college.

Students are surveyed about their experiences with academic advising, civic engagement, transferable skills, writing, global learning and inclusiveness. Responses will be confidential, and UToledo will use the data from the survey to improve the student experience.

“The well-being of our institution depends on student success. Here at UToledo, we are always working to improve the student experience and create an overall sense of belonging,” said Dr. Sammy Spann, vice president of student affairs and dean of students.

“Hearing from the students directly through the NSSE survey is a powerful way to capture students’ perception, gather quantitative data, and gain insight on the impact of our initiatives.”

All first-year and senior students were emailed invitations to take the 2024 survey beginning Monday, March 11, with their unique code. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes and all responses will be kept confidential.

To encourage participation, the Division of Student Affairs is offering the chance to win a Dell laptop, one of two pairs of Apple AirPods and several Amazon gift cards for students who complete the survey by Friday, April 19.
