With spring’s return, Veo’s electric scooters are back on campus after being removed for winter. And now UToledo students and employees have another choice in how they get around: bicycles.

Veo’s 20 bikes join the Chicago-based micromobility company’s UToledo fleet of 130 standing scooters and 30 seated scooters.

“Portability and ease of use is important,” said Brian Kulpa, executive director of auxiliary services. “We continue to expand the offerings to enhance student access to campus and the Toledo city limits.”

The electric scooters and peddle bikes are available to rent from designated pickup spots across campus via a smartphone app and can be piloted across campus or across town.

To start a ride, users scan a QR code with the Veo app. Riders pay $1 to unlock the scooters and bikes, and another 35 cents per minute for the standing scooter, 40 cents per minute for the seated scooter and 5 cents per minute for the bike. Scooters and bikes must be returned to an approved parking area at the end of the ride.

Veo launched its program at the University in August.
