College of Engineering’s Samborn Distinguished Lecture Scheduled March 30

UToledo’s College of Engineering’s Samborn Distinguished Lecture will feature Dr. Daniel Pradel, professor of practice in geotechnical engineering at the Ohio State University, Thursday, March 30.

Pradel’s lecture is titled “The La Conchita Landslide from an Ethics Perspective” and will focus on the role that geotechnical engineers and county officials played in the death of 10 people in 2005, when a portion of the 1995 La Conchita Landslide was reactivated and buried nine homes.

The one-hour lecture begins at 6 p.m. in Nitschke Hall Room 1027. Prior to the lecture, there will be a meet and greet with light snacks from 5 to 6 p.m.

Attendees will receive a free one-hour ethics professional development hours certificate upon completion.
