Now in its 88th year, Songfest returns to Savage Arena as UToledo students dance and sing for a philanthropic cause: Mom’s House, a local childcare center helping low-income, single moms graduate from high school, technical school and/or college.
With the theme of Battle of the Bands, the event kicks off at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 5, and will feature performances inspired by organizations’ favorite bands throughout the years.
“Being UT’s second oldest tradition, Songfest has a history of being one of the best events of the spring and this year will be no different,” said Adam Fredritz, a senior nursing student who serves as a co-emcee representing Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society. “Songfest is such a unique event where fraternities, sororities and co-ed organizations come together to raise money for a local cause.
“We welcome all our esteemed alumni, faculty and students to join us on April 5th in Savage Arena to see our hard work pay off.”
A staple of The University of Toledo since 1937, Songfest, co-hosted by Blue Key Honor Society and Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society, has perfectly blended school spirit, community service and student talent into one unforgettable night.
Songfest donations to Mom’s House can be made through the event’s Fundly webpage.
