Statement from the UToledo Board of Trustees

The search for The University of Toledo’s 19th president continues on schedule with high-quality candidates who are excited about the opportunity to fulfill the potential of UToledo as a transformative public research university and health system.

At this point in the presidential search process, the search committee has invited the finalists, which are all external candidates, to visit our campuses so they can learn more about the institution and we can learn more about them and their potential impact on UToledo.

The Board of Trustees recognizes the excellent leadership of Matt Schroeder who has served as interim president. His support throughout the search process is critically important and appreciated.

“I appreciate the Board giving me the opportunity to lead UToledo as interim president. While I am not advancing to the next phase of the search, I respect the process and remain fully committed to UToledo and our success,” Schroeder said.

We also want to thank our campus community and the larger Toledo community for their respect for this confidential search process and for their support of UToledo and our next president.
