The University of Toledo’s Financial Wellness Office is celebrating April as Financial Literacy Month in a new space in Rocket Hall.
“In addition to the one-on-one financial wellness counseling we offer to students, our new space opens exciting new opportunities to host group presentations and workshops,” said Mollee Williamson, senior financial wellness counselor at UToledo. “We’re looking forward to exploring new ways to give students the tools they need to make informed decisions about budgeting, credit management, paying for college and preparing for life after graduation.”
Financial wellness counselors Mollee Williamson, left, and Carolyn Eaton are available to meet with students individually and in group workshops and presentations.
The Financial Wellness Office is now located in Rocket Hall Room 1790.

UToledo’s Financial Wellness Office is committed to raising awareness and access to financial education resources on and off campus. It welcomed a second financial wellness counselor in late 2024, and it now introduces financial wellness resources to nearly all incoming freshmen through orientation courses.
Financial wellness counselors also partner with more than 25 high schools and more than 20 community organizations in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, offering off-campus presentations and workshops including “Preparing to Pay for College,” their most requested presentation, which offers insights into tuition and other major expenses as well as ways to minimize out-of-pocket costs like scholarships, tuition assistance, student employment and relevant budgeting techniques.
“For many young adults, college is the biggest financial decision they will have ever faced,” Williamson said. “That’s why it’s so important to provide them with the right tools and knowledge beforehand, so that they can make informed choices, avoid unnecessary debt and confidently take control of their financial future.”
