‘Higher Education After SFFA v. Harvard’ Topic of April 9 Stranahan Lecture

A Supreme Court ruling last summer prohibited the use of race in student admissions.

Dr. Ange-Marie Hancock and Devon Westhill will share their different perspectives on the future of higher education following the Students for Fair Admission v. Harvard decision.

Ange-Marie Hancock is executive director of the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at the Ohio State University, where she also serves as ENGIE-Axium Endowed Professor of Political Science. She has written three books on the intersections of categories of difference like race, gender, class, sexuality and citizenship and their impact on policy.

Devon Westhill is the president and general counsel of the nonpartisan, nonprofit Center for Equal Opportunity. An attorney focused on matters of constitutional and civil rights, he researches, speaks and writes about civil rights, civil liberties and related issues such as race relations, social change and equal opportunity.

This free, public lecture is part of the Stranahan National Issues Forum and is sponsored by the College of Law and its chapter of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies, and co-sponsored by the Institute of American Constitutional Thought & Leadership.
