The University of Toledo Title IX Office invites you to celebrate the end of our year-long 50th Anniversary celebration of Title IX by joining us for our Title IX Summit Friday, May 12, in Thompson Student Union Auditorium.

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Enacted on June 23, 1972, Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in educational programs or activities receiving federal funding. The Title IX Summit will bring together local, regional and national experts practicing in Title IX and Title IX-adjacent fields, to share resources, trends and best practices highlighting Title IX and its intersections with matters of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

The inception of the Title IX Summit began in 2018 at Bowling Green State University by Jennifer McCary and the Division of Diversity and Belonging. The University of Toledo is honored to carry on the tradition and to host it this year.

Participants of this event will be able to choose between different breakout sessions, depending on their area of interest such as education and prevention, athletics and Title IX, training for Title IX professionals and pregnancy and parenting best practices.

The Title IX Summit is open to faculty, staff, students, and non-UToledo-affiliated guests. To register for this event, go to the Title IX Summit webpage.

The cost to attend is $20 for undergraduate and graduate students; $25 for UToledo faculty and staff; and $35 for non-UToledo affiliated guests. A guest rate of $25 per person is offered for delegations of six or more persons.

Continental breakfast, lunch and parking are included in the registration fee.

Students are eligible for a scholarship to cover expenses. This can be applied for on the UToledo Title IX Summit webpage. The deadline to submit for a scholarship is tentatively set for Friday, April 14.
