The UToledo Title IX Office invites the campus community to take the annual campus climate survey, a tool the Title IX Office uses to inform campus prevention, education and intervention programming for sexual misconduct. As in past years, the survey is being conducted in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s Changing Campus Culture initiative. The survey allows the State of Ohio to assess what kinds of training, funding and support are most needed across the state.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and does not collect identifying information nor link personal information to responses. The University of Toledo Barnes & Noble has also graciously provided a coupon for 10% off a purchase for survey participants. The survey link has been sent to emails of students, faculty, and staff, but it can also be accessed by clicking the links below.
“This survey is launched in April to coincide with Sexual Assault Awareness Month,” says Zoe Zulakis, Title IX & sexual misconduct investigator. “This is a time in which the campus community is encouraged to consider the prevalence and impact of sexual misconduct on survivors and their communities.”
“The Title IX Office’s Sexual Misconduct Prevention Education Program has been focusing on creating programming that empowers our community members to take action when they come across harmful situations. This survey is one way of assessing what is working on campus but also, where improvements can be made,” says Brittany Kupresanin, manager for Title IX compliance, prevention and assessment. “We want to create a community of Rocket Upstanders — individuals who not only stand against sexual harassment but also intervene when safe and help connect survivors to resources.”
Everyone has a role they can play in preventing and addressing sexual misconduct, and providing feedback through this anonymous survey is one way to help. The survey will be available to complete through Wednesday, April 30.
Those looking for other ways to get involved and learn more about prevention and intervention can attend a Rocket Upstanders program. The final program for the spring term, Rocket Upstanders: Consent Is the Tea is scheduled for Monday, April 14, from 2 to 3 p.m. and Tuesday, April 15, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Carlson Library Room 1005. Learn more by visiting the UToledo Title IX Office’s Invonet page.
