The University of Toledo has updated its plans for this week’s on-campus vaccine distribution switching to the Pfizer vaccine and opening the clinic to the UToledo community.

UToledo previously had scheduled three student-only vaccine clinics this week on Main Campus providing the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Following a call from federal health agencies to pause use of the single-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine while reports of potential side effects are investigated, UToledo is moving forward with providing the two-dose Pfizer vaccine.

No significant safety concerns have been reported about the Pfizer vaccine.

Students, faculty and staff who would like to receive the Pfizer vaccine can schedule their first dose on Thursday, April 15, and their second dose on Thursday, May 6, at covid19vaccine.utoledo.edu. Students and employees also will receive an email with the registration link.

Individuals who have questions or would like assistance with the registration process should email CovidVaccineRegistration@utoledo.edu.

Advanced registration is required and vaccine appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students and employees will be asked to provide health insurance information while registering, but there will be no out-of-pocket expenses, regardless of insurance status.

At this time, the COVID-19 vaccine is not required by The University of Toledo, but it is highly encouraged to advance the health and safety of our employees, students, families and patients.
