Race anytime anywhere — on your mark, get set, go: The Rocket Wellness Coalition’s virtual 5K will take place between Wednesday, April 15, through Wednesday, April 22.

UToledo students, employees and community members are encouraged to join the launch of a new tradition to celebrate all forms of physical activity and goal achievement by taking part in the Rocket Your Way Virtual 5K Race.

“A virtual 5K is a race that can be run, walked, wheeled, or any other method to achieve 3.1 miles from any location you choose,” said Andrea Masters, assistant director of Rocket Wellness and co-chair of the Rocket Wellness Coalition. “For example, participants can race on the trail, treadmill, bicycle or in your neighborhood; you get the power to choose how to complete it.”

Participants can complete the 3.1 miles anytime between April 15 and 22 in order to take part in the race.

Students can register using this link; employees and community members can register using this link.

Complete this webform to submit proof of completion of the virtual 5K race by Friday, April 24, to add your name to a list of finishers that will be published for the UToledo community to celebrate. All participants also will receive a finisher certificate and a social media graphic to share.

“We wanted to encourage the entire UToledo community to participate in the virtual 5K,” said Rachael Decker, associate director of programs and assessment at the Student Recreation Center and co-chair of the Rocket Wellness Coalition. “Employees, students and any other UToledo community members are encouraged to take part and challenge others to do the same.”

More information regarding the Rocket Your Way Virtual 5K can be found on the Rocket Wellness webpage.
