The city of Toledo has contracted with Gerken Paving Inc. to resurface Douglas Road from Dorr Street to Kenwood Boulevard.

Beginning around Monday, May 5, the curb lanes of Douglas Road will be closed for milling and paving.

The projected completion date for the resurfacing is mid-July.

“The University has been working with the city of Toledo regarding the repaving project,” said Doug Collins, director of grounds and off-site facilities. “The UT Facilities and Construction Department has also discussed specifics about the intersection of Douglas and Oakwood. Not only will the driving surface be improved, but the crosswalk will see improvement with larger islands to provide a safer crossing to the engineering campus.”
