The University of Toledo’s College of Arts & Letters, Department of Music and Athletic Department are launching a Rocket Marching Band scholarship award, a $1,000 scholarship opportunity available to all new and returning members of the Rocket Marching Band beginning with the fall 2025 season.
The Rocket Marching Band is open to students of any major on campus.

“This scholarship illustrates the University’s collective interest in supporting and sustaining what truly is the soundtrack of the UToledo experience for our students and campus community,” said Andrew Rhodes, associate director of bands and director of athletic bands. “The students of the Rocket Marching Band are highly visible ambassadors for the University, city and region, and are one of the largest student organizations on campus.”
Recognized as one of the finest bands in the Mid-American Conference, The University of Toledo Marching Band took its first steps nearly a century ago. Its members strive for the highest in performance skills, character and leadership — individually and collectively. The Rocket Marching Band enthusiastically supports Rocket Athletics and entertains audiences; recent seasons have concluded with bowl games in the Bahamas, Boca Raton, Florida, Tucson, Arizona, and in Detroit in late December with a thrilling six-overtime victory over ACC opponent Pitt.
“I am excited to bring back our veteran members again this fall and meet all our talented incoming Rocket Marching Band members as well,” Rhodes said. “This is an amazing place to perform and we continue to raise the bar for ourselves while aiding the University’s greater mission.”
