Career Services is transitioning to the all-new Rocket Career Center (RC2), symbolizing a dynamic shift in supporting student and alumni career aspirations.

This strategic shift aims to change the narrative of career services and move away from transactional services. The Rocket Career Center will instead focus on delivering transformative experiences that embed career development resources within classrooms, across campus and throughout neighboring communities. Embracing the nationally recognized Career Everywhere model, this initiative’s goal is to positively impact recruitment, retention and the University’s national reputation by prioritizing student success and career readiness.

“As we enter the ‘Career Everywhere Era,’ our objective is to seamlessly integrate career readiness resources into every facet of University life,” said Shelly Drouillard, director of Rocket Career Center. “The Rocket Career Center serves as a dedicated partner, supporting and empowering students and alumni at every step of their journey.”

Faculty, staff and stakeholders are invited to join the initiative as UToledo Career Everywhere Champions by integrating career readiness resources into their departments and collaborating on niche programming and events with the Rocket Career Center.

In addition to the name change, the physical space of the Rocket Career Center will undergo updates to reflect this new era of Career Everywhere. The Rocket Career Center is set to establish a Wall of Champions, honoring the remarkable contributions of UToledo Career Everywhere Champions in collaboration with RC2. A new interactive wall also will allow prospective and current students to visualize career pathway options. These enhancements aim to provide an inspiring environment for students to design their future career journey.
