The National Youth Sports Program at The University of Toledo returns for a three-week summer camp beginning Wednesday, June 2, with online applications accepted through Friday, May 28.
The National Youth Sports Program provides a blend of athletic and educational programming for income-eligible children to help them build social skills, confidence and healthy lifestyles, and has been hosted on UToledo’s campus every year since 1969 — with the exception 2020 when the camp was canceled because of COVID-19.
The camp will be split into four age groups divided into morning and afternoon sessions on campus from June 2 through Tuesday, June 22.
The morning session will be for Group 1 (9-year-olds) and Group 2 (10-year-olds) from 9 a.m. until noon weekdays. The afternoon session for Group 3 (11-year-olds) and Group 4 (12-year-olds) will be from noon until 3 p.m.
This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the camp will be an abbreviated program with only 32 participants.
Registration information is available on the UToledo NYSP website.
