Douglas Road will be closed Friday between University Hills Boulevard and East Rocket Drive as contractors pour the concrete decking on The University of Toledo’s new pedestrian bridge.
The closure is expected to last from 6 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. A detour will be posted.
The University broke ground on the $3.4 million project in July and installed the bridge span over Douglas Road two weeks ago. Pouring the concrete decking is the final major part of the project.
Work on the bridge, which spans 78 feet across Douglas Road, is on schedule to be completed next month.
The University expects to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony this summer.
