The University of Toledo will host two camps and a tennis league this summer to help people interested in the sport.
Each camp will focus on different aspects of the game and levels of tennis, with all events taking place on the UT Varsity Court.
The summer will kick off with the United States Tennis Association’s two-week camp and a league at the University from Monday, June 11, through Satruday, June 23.
The Start/Re-Start Camp for new tennis players and players who are returning to the game will take place from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. each day when campers will learn technique and build skills.
With the $50 registration fee, campers will receive a United States Tennis Association membership, access to play in the league, subscription to Tennis Magazine and more.
The Toledo Youth Team Tennis League for young players who will enter grades one through five will start immediately after the Start/Re-Start Camp at 6:30 p.m. and will last for an hour. The league has a registration fee of $65.

The UT Rocket Tennis & Fitness Camp with Rocket Men’s Tennis Coach Al Wermer will take place Monday through Friday, July 16-20, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Wermer will work with campers ages of 8-17.
“It’s my passion to engage the youth with our game,” said Wermer, who led the Rockets to a 15-11 record and appearance in the MAC Tournament last season. “Most importantly, I love to show people how great our campus is. We have great facilities, and we get to showcase them at our camps.”
The campers will have the chance to learn from keynote speakers and coaches, and showcase their skills during match play. Fitness education and training also are a major part of this camp.
The camp costs $350.
