Carlson Library is undergoing renovations this summer aimed at enhancing services and improving spaces for student success. While construction is underway, the library remains open and fully committed to serving the campus community.

Throughout the summer, Carlson Library will maintain its normal summer operating hours and visitors will continue to have access to key services.

Renovations are primarily focused on the first floor, with some updates occurring in the basement and on the second floor. Floors 3 through 5 remain quiet study areas and will not be impacted by construction.

Although the Information Commons computers are temporarily unavailable, they will return after renovations. Expect to see a reduced number as the demand for workstations has diminished over the last several years. In the meantime, laptops for loan remain available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.

Due to construction, reservable spaces in the library are extremely limited over the summer.

Looking ahead, the renovations will bring several changes:

•  The Learning Enhancement Center (LEC), Writing Center and TRIO programs will relocate from the basement to a newly renovated space on the first floor. This move is scheduled for completion by the start of fall semester.

•  The Main Event Space is being expanded and modernized to better accommodate campus events and student gatherings. It is expected to reopen at the beginning of spring semester.

•  Patrons will be met with a more modern and welcoming environment on the first floor.
