The Powell, Ohio, native had an impressive freshman campaign with a 4-0 record in 26 appearances, 37.2 innings pitched, a 3.35 ERA, a .246 opponent batting average and 39 strikeouts to average over a strikeout per inning. Tabor closed out several Toledo victories, totaling six saves to his record, which was second in the Mid-American Conference.
In individual games, Tabor struck out at least three batters six times, including a season-high four each against Winthrop (Feb. 25) and Southeast Missouri State (March 3). He pitched at least 2.0 innings nine times. His longest outing was 3.2 innings of scoreless relief on just one hit and two strikeouts to close out an 11-7 victory against Kent State on April 13.
Tabor’s efforts helped the Rockets’ pitching staff to the lowest team opponent batting average in the league (.270) and the second-best ERA (5.66).
Tabor was the only player in the MAC to receive the Freshman All-American distinction from the NCBWA. He tallied his second postseason honor in 2024, having been named Second Team All-MAC on May 21.
