Baseball Earns 10 Selections on Academic All-MAC Team

The Toledo baseball team has earned 10 selections on the Academic All-MAC Team, the league office announced Monday.

Toledo’s selections are seniors Kaleb Herbert, Caden Konczak, Brennan McCune and Yianni Skeriotis, juniors Jackson Bergman and Nathan Leininger, redshirt sophomores Ryan Hughes and Troy Sudbrook and sophomores Charlie Scholvin and Jacob Tabor.

Konczak earned his third Academic All-MAC selection, Bergman, Hughes and Skeriotis their second, and Herbert, Leininger, McCune, Scholvin, Sudbrook and Tabor took their first selections. All of Toledo’s CSC Academic All-District picks in Bergman, Konczak, Scholvin, Sudbrook and Tabor also were selected as Academic All-MAC.

To qualify, players must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA with at least a sophomore academic standing and play in at least 50% of a team’s games.

Toledo continued its strong run on the Academic All-MAC charts, earning at least 10 selections for the fourth time in the last five seasons. Toledo had respective fall and spring GPAs of 3.345 and 3.386, the 11th- and 12th-straight semesters with a team GPA above a 3.2.
