Five members of the Toledo women’s tennis team earned a spot on the Academic All-MAC team, the conference announced. For the second-straight season, the Rockets led all Mid-American Conference programs with the most honorees, along with Ball State and Buffalo.

Julia Kuszynski led the Rockets with a perfect 4.0 GPA to earn her second Academic All-MAC honor, along with Cassie Alcala and Shalini Tallamraju. Laura Morera and Sloane Teske were honored for the third-consecutive season. Additionally, Alcala, Kuszynski, Tallamraju and Mariona Perez added College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2023 Academic All-District Women’s Tennis Team accolades to their academic accomplishments this season.

The Rockets ended the season with a 3.624 team GPA, with three student-athletes earning a spot on the President’s List and five on the Dean’s List.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete not in their first year on the team must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
