The University of Toledo men’s golf program placed five student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC team, the league office announced. The Rockets’ total of five recipients are tied for second most in the conference and mark the third-straight season four or more Toledo golfers have been honored.

Senior Nate Thomson was joined by junior David Amm, junior Muhammed Afif Mohd Fathi, sophomore NJ Botha and sophomore Palmer Yenrick on the Academic All-MAC team.

Botha paced the Rockets with a 3.968 grade point average in accounting with Yenrick, Amm and Thomson each posting 3.70 GPAs or higher. During the 2020-21 academic year, the men’s golf program posted a 3.608 GPA in the fall semester and an athletic department-best 3.660 GPA in the spring semester.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
