Dr. Amy Thompson has been named acting dean of the College of Graduate Studies.
Thompson, senior vice provost for academic affairs and professor of public health, will lead the college effective July 1.
“I appreciate Amy taking on this additional responsibility to support our students pursuing advanced degrees and wish to thank Barry Scheuermann for his service as interim dean,” said Dr. Karen Bjorkman, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.

Thompson has been a leader in the University’s COVID-19 pandemic response during the past year.
A graduate of UToledo where she earned her doctorate degree in public health, Thompson joined the faculty in 2008. She was recently elected to lead the Society for Public Health Education, Inc.
