ParkUToledo has launched a new tool for employees, students and affiliates to voluntarily register to park in patient areas when receiving care at The University of Toledo Medical Center or on-campus clinics.
Patient areas on the UToledo Main Campus and Health Science Campus are reserved for patients and enforced 24/7. When individuals registered with a parking permit are in those spaces, ParkUToledo staff recognize those vehicles as being unauthorized for parking in a patient or visitor space rather than in a lot that corresponds with their permit.
While ParkUToledo already approves appeals for citations when an individual confirms they were a patient at the time they were parked in a patient area, the new tool allows employees, students and affiliates to voluntarily register ahead of an appointment to park in a patient area.
Visit ParkUToledo’s Parking in Patient Areas website prior to the visit to complete the form with your Rocket number, license plate number and date of visit. You are required to verify you are entering the correct license plate number by doing so twice. Once a permit holder concludes their time as a patient, they are expected to move their vehicle to the appropriate parking area as designated by their individual permits.
“ParkUToledo worked closely with the leadership team at The University of Toledo Medical Center to come up with an option to allow patrons who work or study on campus to park as patients on the Health Science Campus and Main Campus when necessary while also making sure we keep these spaces available for patients to have easy access to their providers,” said Sherri Kaspar, executive director of ParkUToledo.
ParkUToledo is currently updating all patient parking areas with green lines to more clearly differentiate patient parking spaces from employee, student and affiliate parking spaces. All patient spaces should be green by mid-August.
