Junior Outfielder Jeff Cola is experiencing great success on the diamond this summer as a member of the Lorain County Ironmen and was selected to play in the Prospect League All-Star Game.

The mid-season summer classic will take place Wednesday, July 13, in Beckley, W.V.

Cola is hitting .346 (36 for 104) with nine runs scored, six doubles, two home runs and 19 RBI in 27 games. The Strongsville, Ohio, native, who ranks 11th in the league in batting average, 13th in RBI and tied for 15th in hits, was the leading vote-getter at his position and has played a key role in helping Lorain County post the top offense in the league.

He is one of eight players from the Ironmen to be selected to the all-star contest. For the second straight season, Lorain County will send the most players to the East Division team. They tied with the Quincy Gems for the most players overall.

The all-star game will include a workout day in front of scouts from professional teams. A home run derby will precede the contest.
