The CommunityCare Clinics will hold its 10th annual golf tournament Saturday, July 27, at 2 p.m. at Heatherdowns Country Club, 3910 Heatherdowns Blvd. Check-in will open at noon.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the tournament go toward direct patient care at all sites run by CommunityCare Clinics. As a free clinic, every dollar counts. One dollar donated to the CommunityCare Clinics provides $80.90 in patient care value.

CommunityCare Clinics have been providing comprehensive primary care services to Toledo’s uninsured and medically underserved community for 14 years. In the last 12 months, the clinics have provided care to more than 1,800 patients through over 1,600 hours of volunteering.

“The golf outing is one of our largest fundraisers of each year. It is a key component that allows us to continue providing free medical services to the underserved and underinsured population of Toledo,” said Nate Dusseau, a second-year medical student and director of finance for the clinics. “We are completely dependent on donations, fundraisers and grants to operate the clinic. All revenue goes directly towards helping those in need.

“Our patients come to us because of circumstances that have made it difficult to access quality healthcare,” Dusseau added. “It is important that we keep providing free medical services to those who rely on us in the community. We are extremely grateful to all participants in this year’s golf outing, you are helping us provide medications and services for our patients.”

The cost of the golf tournament is $90 for a player and $360 for a team. If you are not a golfer, you can still attend and cheer on our players while participating in raffles or games. The tournament will be run as a scramble with teams of four. Casual, golf course attire is recommended, as well as nonmetal spikes. Clubs will be available for rent for those who do not own a personal set ($15 per person). Please register by Monday, July 22.
