Toledo senior running back Adonis Thomas has been named to the Doak Walker Award watch list, an honor given annually to the nation’s top running back.

A 2010 second-team All-Mid-American Conference selection, Thomas topped the league with 6.3 yards per carry and ranked second with 1,098 rushing yards. He scored 10 touchdowns (eight rushing, two receiving) and ranked second on the team with 31 pass receptions.

Thomas gained a career-high 193 yards and two touchdowns vs. FIU in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, highlighted by a career-high 87-yard TD run that was the third-longest scoring run in UT history.

The Newark, N.J., native is the MAC’s lone representative on the Doak Walker watch list, which includes 52 candidates.

Ten semifinalists will be announced Friday, Nov. 11, and the recipient will be named live on ESPN Thursday, Dec. 8.
