The University of Toledo’s Division of Enrollment Management is hosting a Campus Crawl on Friday, July 25, for prospective students to explore key campus facilities and landmarks at their own pace and meet with University representatives from admissions and academic colleges.
As part of the event’s theme of “travel,” students will receive a passport and boarding pass, including a “passport photo,” and visit stops on Main Campus, where they will learn more about the University, specific colleges and their programs, campus resources and more.
The Campus Crawl is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include food trucks, yard games, live performances, prizes and more. Additional activities on Health Science Campus are scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m.
As an important component of the event’s success, UToledo staff, faculty and students are asked to help create a welcoming and energetic experience for the prospective students and families.
“We know that coming to our campus impacts students’ decisions and is a real difference maker, so combining the ‘wow factor’ of the visuals of campus along with the buzz of a great event really moves students toward coming to UToledo,” said Dr. Tony Bourne, vice president for strategic enrollment management. “Showing our personality, providing a welcoming environment and being a great resource for their college search really sets us apart from other schools for prospective students.”
This includes:
• Wearing UToledo gear or blue and gold on Friday, July 25. Show your Rocket pride and help visitors feel the spirit of campus.
• Being a friendly face. If you see a guest who looks lost or unsure, direct them to Centennial Mall or to someone in a light blue “TOL-EDO” shirt, who is part of the Campus Crawl event staff.
• Helping spread the word. There’s still time to sign up for the event. If you know friends, family or neighbors with high school students, transfer students or adult learners, encourage them to register and attend the UToledo Campus Crawl.
• Saying hello and smiling. A warm greeting or simple “Welcome to UToledo” goes a long way — especially to anyone carrying a yellow bag (a giveaway to the event’s guests).
• Sharing the positive UToledo/“Go Rockets” vibes. If the opportunity comes up naturally, share what you love about being part of UToledo — it makes a difference.
“Campus Crawl is our chance to make a lasting impression on future Rockets,” said Heather Lutz, director of enrollment events and visits. “When faculty and staff come together to show their pride in UToledo, it creates an energy on campus that students remember. Your support helps them see themselves here —and that’s what truly makes the difference in their college decision.”
