Cynthia Bukirwa receives her white coat during The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences’ annual white coat ceremony for incoming medical students on Friday, July 25. The event serves to celebrates the students’ entry to medical school and symbolize the privileges and responsibilities they have as physicians-in-training.
This year’s incoming class of 175 students was selected from more than 6,500 applicants from across the country. Students come from 25 different states, though 63% are Ohio residents and 22% are from northwest Ohio.
