UToledo received more than 5,500 medical school applications this year, ultimately selecting 175 students in its new class of medical students. For three decades white coat ceremonies have been a rite of passage for incoming medical students nationwide. UToledo also has upcoming ceremonies for students in several other health professions programs.
• The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will hold a professional advancement ceremony for students in both the Doctor of Pharmacy Program and Pharmaceutical Sciences Program on Thursday, Aug. 24.
• The College of Health and Human Services will hold a white coat ceremony for students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program on Thursday, Aug. 24.
• The College of Medicine and Life Sciences will host a white coat ceremony for students in the Physician Assistant Program on Monday, Aug. 21, and a lab coat ceremony for students in the Biomedical Sciences Program on Thursday, Sept. 7.
• The College of Nursing will hold a white coat ceremony for pre-licensure bachelor of science in nursing students on Tuesday, Sept. 12, and graduate-entry master of science in nursing students on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
