U.S. News & World Report has again recognized The University of Toledo Medical Center as a high-performing hospital for its treatment of heart failure and stroke.
The awards, which come as part of the magazine’s annual “Best Hospitals” ratings, were announced Tuesday.
U.S. News & World Report bases its scores on multiple quality measures, including patient survival, how often patients are discharged directly to home and how many patients aged 65-plus the hospital treats.
Hospitals that earned a high-performing rating for a medical procedure or condition were significantly better than the national average.
U.S. News & World Report has been evaluating hospitals for more than 30 years. The magazine reviewed more than 6,000 hospitals across the country for its 2023-2024 rankings.
