Students, faculty, staff and alumni at The University of Toledo can pick up a pride pack or create their own from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, in the Thompson Student Union Trimble Lounge to gear up for the 2021 Toledo Pride Celebration this weekend.
“Join us in your favorite rainbow outfit for a chance to win a throwback ‘gay? fine by me.’ T-shirt,” said Danielle Lutman, program manager for gender equity student initiatives in the Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women.
“Decorate your own grab bag, fill it with rainbow swag, take pictures in front of a rainbow backdrop and enjoy a Pride playlist and a rainbow treat.”
Pre-made packs also will be available on Health Science Campus at the front desk of the Jacobs Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center.
The pre-pride event at UToledo is organized by the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, LGBTQA+ Initiatives in the Office of Multicultural Student Success, the Ryan White Program and the LGBTQA+ Alumni Affiliate.
“Toledo Pride is a time for folks to come together and celebrate the amazing LGBTQA+ community in northwest Ohio,” Lutman said. “Being able to have a UToledo presence during Toledo Pride celebrations is another way we can support both our campus and the greater Toledo area.”
