Women’s Basketball Ranks 10th in Nation With 3.724 Team GPA in 2023-24

The Toledo women’s basketball team’s 3.724 cumulative grade-point average ranked 10th nationally among Division I programs, according to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Honor Roll.

The Rockets’ GPA was also the top mark in the Mid-American Conference last year and marked their third straight academic year posting a 3.5 team GPA or higher. Toledo posted a 3.556 mark in 2022-23 and a 3.519 figure in 2021-22.

The Rockets registered a 3.650 GPA during the spring semester, with six selections to the Dean’s List and six to the President’s List. Toledo now has 27 consecutive semesters with a 3.0 or higher team GPA.

In the spring, four Rockets — Jessica Cook, Nan Garcia, Sammi Mikonowicz and Sophia Wiard — were named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District with seven Rockets receiving Academic All-MAC honors.

Toledo also continued to excel on the court in 2023-24. The Rockets finished 28-6 (17-1 MAC), won their third consecutive regular-season MAC title, and advanced to the WBIT quarterfinals in postseason play.
