The University of Toledo and the University of Tulsa have agreed to play a two-game series in football in 2016 and 2017.
The Rockets will travel to Tulsa Sept. 17, 2016, with the Golden Hurricane returning the trip to Toledo Sept. 16, 2017.
Tulsa is a member of Conference USA. The team was 8-5 in 2011, falling to BYU in the Armed Forces Bowl, 24-21.
The two schools have met twice, with Toledo winning at Tulsa in 1962, and the Golden Hurricane prevailing in the Glass Bowl in 1964.
“We are very pleased to add Tulsa to our football schedules for 2016 and 2017,” said UT Vice President and Athletic Director Mike O’Brien. “Tulsa has a highly respected football program. The home game in 2017 adds another high-profile matchup for our fans to watch in the Glass Bowl.”
