Former Toledo women’s basketball standout Quinesha Lockett has signed a contract to play professionally with the German club Rutronik Stars Keltern, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Lockett becomes the second Rocket to sign a pro contract with a European club this summer, joining classmate Sophia Wiard who recently signed to play for the Spanish club Movistar Estudiantes. Lockett most recently signed a tryout contract with the Minnesota Lynx this spring.
Playing in five seasons for Toledo from 2019-2024, Lockett finished her career in the top 10 of several Toledo all-time records. She stands second in points (2,423) field goals (885) and minutes (4,667), fifth in three-point field goals made (200), scoring average (15.9) and steals (223), sixth in free throws (453) and ninth in assists (427).
Lockett was named the 2022-23 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year, the sixth in program history at that time. That season, she ranked second in the league in scoring average (17.9 PPG), was seventh in assist/turnover ratio (1.6) and 16th in free throw percentage (.767).
The Omaha, Nebraska, native also was a First-Team All-MAC selection in 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24. She was twice named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Watch List and was selected to the Wooden Award Watch List, Naismith Trophy Watch List and Drysdale Award Watch List in her career. She finished her collegiate career with a selection to the 2024 Women’s College All-Star Game in Cleveland, where she scored 11 points.
Lockett helped Toledo to three MAC championships, a 2023 MAC tournament title and NCAA Tournament appearance, and a combined 86-17 record over the past three seasons. She also led the Rockets to their first NCAA Tournament win since 1992 with a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double against Iowa State on March 18, 2023.
