Rockets Offering Free Football Tickets to Frontline Workers

The University of Toledo is offering two complimentary tickets to the football home opener on Saturday, Sept. 4, to all those who have been working on the “front line” during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Rockets host Norfolk State at the Glass Bowl with kickoff at 7 p.m.

The complimentary tickets are made possible thanks to a sponsorship by Huntington Bank.

The free ticket offer is good to any worker who has served others during the past 18 months, often at their own personal risk. Frontline workers include but are not limited to, medical and healthcare; telecommunications; information technology systems; defense; food and agriculture; transportation and logistics; energy, water and wastewater; public works; healthcare workers; protective service workers (law enforcement, fire and EMTs); employees in grocery and general merchandise stores; production and food processing workers; janitors and maintenance workers; educational professionals (teachers, school staff, etc.); agricultural workers and truck drivers; healthcare practitioners; those in technical occupations (e.g. doctors, registered nurses and pharmacists); and health-support workers (e.g., nursing assistants and home health aides).

This list may not include all frontline and essential workers. If your “frontline” occupation is not listed here, you are still welcome to take advantage of this offer.

“This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the many workers in our community whose efforts have helped all of us during the pandemic of the past year-and-a-half,” said Deputy Athletic Director Dave Nottke.

Frontline workers may receive two complimentary tickets and the option to purchase additional tickets at a discounted price of $19 per ticket. Mobile tickets will be sent digitally to the email address provided on the request form.

Frontline workers attending the game may send photos of themselves at their jobs to Frontline workers will be recognized at the game and selected photos will be shown on the video board throughout the game.
