The Rockets will open MAC play on the road on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Miami and will host Western Michigan on Wednesday, Jan. 10, in their conference home opener. The Battle of I-75 returns to Savage Arena on Saturday, Feb. 3, when Toledo hosts arch-rival Bowling Green, and the two teams will reconvene on Saturday, Feb. 17, in the Stroh Center.

“We are excited to release our full schedule this early,” head coach Tricia Cullop said. “I hope Rocket fans will reserve their season tickets now. We return a very talented nucleus from last season’s successful campaign and have many exciting home matchups you won’t want to miss.”

Toledo’s home conference schedule includes Western Michigan (Jan. 10), Ohio (Jan. 13), Northern Illinois (Jan. 24), Buffalo (Jan. 27), Bowling Green (Feb. 3), Miami (Feb. 21), Ball State (Feb. 24), Eastern Michigan (March 6) and Kent State (March 9).

Road conference opponents will be Miami (Jan. 3), Eastern Michigan (Jan. 6), Kent State (Jan. 17), Ball State (Jan. 20), Akron (Jan. 31), Central Michigan (Feb. 7), Bowling Green (Feb. 17), Northern Illinois (Feb. 28) and Western Michigan (March 2).

The 2024 MAC Tournament will be held on Wednesday, March 13, and Friday and Saturday, March 15 and 16, in Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

MAC play will be preceded by a challenging non-conference schedule that includes four matchups against 2023 NCAA Tournament teams: James Madison, Gonzaga, Michigan and Duke. Toledo will host Michigan in Savage Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 6, in a rematch of last season’s upset victory in Ann Arbor.

Toledo will open the 2023-24 season on the road at James Madison on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the first portion of the inaugural MAC-SBC Challenge. The MAC-SBC Challenge is a scheduling alliance of the men’s and women’s basketball programs in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Sun Belt Conference (SBC). The Rockets will host a to-be-announced Sun Belt opponent on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Toledo is coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history. The Rockets won their 11th MAC Regular Season Championship and captured their ninth MAC Tournament title, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. Toledo also won its first NCAA Tournament game since 1996, taking down No. 5 seed Iowa State in the first round on March 18. The win was the 17th in a row for UT, which set a new school record for longest winning streak in school history.

The Rockets welcome back their entire starting five from last season, including reigning MAC Player of the Year Quinesha Lockett and two-time All-MAC honoree Sophia Wiard. Sammi Mikonowicz, Khera Goss, Jessica Cook, and Nan Garcia all return from last season’s championship-winning team as well.
