The Military Service Center with support from the Student Veterans of America UToledo chapter will host the sixth annual 22 Pushup Challenge on Wednesday, Sept. 11, to raise awareness of veteran suicide during National Suicide Awareness month.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. near the Veterans Memorial Plaza on Main Campus. The plaza is located between Memorial Field House and University Hall on Centennial Mall. There will be resource tables in place regarding suicide awareness.

“This year marks our 6th anniversary holding our annual 22 Pushup Challenge and we are encouraging the greater UToledo community to stop out to the Veterans Memorial in Centennial Mall on 9/11 between 11 and 1 p.m. to raise awareness of veterans suicide by doing 22 pushups with us,” said Eric Buetikofer, UToledo director of Military and Veteran Affairs. “Please come out and show your support for raising veteran suicide awareness.”

If participants are unable to do all 22 pushups, student veterans will be there to complete any unfinished pushups.
