UT Marching Band to roll through downtown Toledo Friday night

The University of Toledo Marching Band will roll through downtown Toledo tonight to drum up spirit for the Rockets’ home-opening football game vs. Maine in the Glass Bowl Saturday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m.

Members of the UT Marching Band and the UT cheerleaders will visit downtown for pop-up pep rallies Friday, Sept. 9.

The band will play at five downtown restaurants and pubs, beginning with Pizza Papalis at 9 p.m., followed by Veritas, Ye Olde Durty Bird, Cock ‘n’ Bull and The Blarney.

“We did these pop-ups last year, and they were very successful,” Cindy Kerr, executive director of Downtown Toledo Improvement District, said. “Everyone grabs their phones to record and share the unexpected excitement that the band and their enthusiasm brings. Downtown Toledo is proud of our local team.”
