The University of Toledo has been recognized for the first time among the top universities in the country in the 2022-2023 U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges rankings.

UToledo climbed in the rankings for improvements in a number of metrics in the annual report’s methodology, but most importantly on student success measures including retention and graduation rates, class sizes and faculty-to-student ratios.

“It is fitting that in this sesquicentennial year when we are celebrating our 150-year history and planning for our future that the latest U.S. News ranking reflects our positive momentum and the great things happening on our campuses,” UToledo President Gregory Postel said. “We are focused on student success and are proud to see those efforts reflected in the rankings.”

UToledo is ranked in the third tier at 285 out of a total of 440 national universities included in the most recent survey, representing a year-over-year increase of 11 percentile points. The University is ranked among the Top Public Schools listed at 146 out of 227 institutions.

At the same time, UToledo graduates command competitive salaries after graduation.
