The Office of Student Engagement and Connections, in collaboration with the Global Latin Student Union (GLSU), is hosting a variety of campus and community events in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.

“Hispanic heritage month is celebrated every year from September 15th to October 15th. The start date is significant because it the Independence Day of several Latin American countries like Costa Rica and El Salvador,” Rudy Velasquez, president of the GLSU, said.

“This month recognizes and honors the historical and cultural contributions Latinos had and continue to have in U.S history. It’s important to show and celebrate our cultural pride through events, art, music, dance and food. The Global Latin Student Union will host events helping to educate the student body.”
