Rockets, football coach featured as clue on ‘Jeopardy!’

Rocket fans who watched “Jeopardy!” Sept. 22 probably liked one of the answers read by host Alex Trebek.

Under the category “Rocket Man” for $400, the answer was, “Matt Campbell coaches football for the Rockets of this university that’s in Ohio but sounds like it could be in Spain.”

The buzz on social media in Rocket Nation was quick, as Twitter and Facebook exploded with photos and video from the show. Watch a clip here.

It’s more national exposure for the Toledo football team, which is 2-0 after defeating No. 18 Arkansas from the Southeastern Conference and then Iowa State from the Big 12.

In addition to their skills on the field, court and track, UT student-athletes continue to impress in the classroom. For 13 semesters in a row, they have earned a 3.0 or higher grade point average, and all 16 teams earned at least a 3.0 GPA last semester. What’s more UT student-athletes have had the best GPA in the Mid-American Conference for three of the last four years.
