The University of Toledo’s Ritter Planetarium will explore cosmic connections to Halloween in October.
“Spooky Space” presents outer space phenomena through comparisons to seasonal characters like vampires and ghosts. Recommended for viewers ages 6 and older, the documentary will screen at 1 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 25 and at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, with young viewers encouraged to attend in costume on Halloween.
Ritter Planetarium also will screen “Messengers of Time and Space” in October, exploring cutting-edge observatories and instruments that capture real-time astronomical events like the recently opened NSF-DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory based in Chile.
“Messengers of Time and Space,” a new documentary released earlier this year, will screen at 7:30 p.m. Fridays through Oct. 24.
Admission to planetarium shows is $8 for adults and $6 for children, senior citizens and UToledo community members. Children ages 3 and younger are free. Parking is free in Area 1N within 45 minutes of the beginning of planetarium shows.
