The way The University of Toledo communicates news to the campus community has been refreshed with a redesigned website to share more information.

The updated UToledo News site at news.utoledo.edu launched Oct. 1 with a new design that mimics the front page of a newspaper to highlight featured content with more photos and graphics. The website also organizes content by timely topics to quickly get members of the campus community the news they are looking for.

In addition to the most recent news stories about UToledo written by the Office of University Marketing and Communication team, the website also now features faculty experts and highlights when the University is featured in the external news media.

The University’s event calendar and social media also are now integrated into the news website.

“We take pride in our role in communicating the news that impacts members of our campus community and in telling the stories of our amazing students, faculty, staff and alumni. We are excited about the new ways we can share those stories through this refreshed online resource,” said Dr. Adrienne King, associate vice president of marketing and communications.

The University will continue to share the news daily through the UToledo News email; however, there is no longer a weekly printed newspaper. UToledo ceased publishing the newspaper during the pandemic when most employees worked remotely and made the strategic decision to update the online news presence rather than return to a printed paper.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to complete the Submit a Story form or contact a member of the communications team with their news ideas to be shared in UToledo News.
