Groundbreaking for The University of Toledo’s new campus along Bancroft Street began in 1929. Two years later, construction was completed for both University Hall and the Field House.

The University’s historical events will be celebrated on Founder’s Day, Oct. 12, including a lecture by Professor Emeritus Barbara Floyd, author of “An Institution for the Promoting of Knowledge: The University of Toledo at 150,” and an exhibit commemorating the sesquicentennial, “Faith, Vision, and Hard Work: The University of Toledo, 1872-2022,” at the Ward M. Canaday Center.
