As we embrace fall, The University of Toledo Counseling Center invites students to “Fall into Wellness” during Mental Health Awareness Week, from Monday, Oct. 7, to Friday, Oct. 13. This week of engaging activities is designed to promote mental well-being and provide essential resources for students to thrive academically and personally.

The Counseling Center will host a series of activities centered around relaxation, mindfulness, early detection of mental health issues, substance use and suicide prevention.

Monday, Oct. 7. Join us on for a yoga and mindfulness session from noon to 2 p.m. that encourages self-care and stress reduction. The first 30 students will get a free yoga mat to keep. Take a break from your busy schedule with our rest and relaxation stations, designed to help you recharge and refocus.

Thursday, Oct. 10. For World Mental Health Day, join our life-sized board game in Trimble Lounge hosted by the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Committee to learn about substance use through an interactive format.

This year, we’re excited to highlight the 22 new massage chairs available across campus, offering students a chance to unwind and experience the benefits of relaxation firsthand. Whether you’re on a break between classes or need a moment to destress, these chairs are here to support your well-being. For a complete list of massage chair locations, visit the Rocket Restore Relaxation Stations website.

To further support your journey toward better mental health, the Counseling Center website provides valuable resources on sleep hygiene, rest and relaxation strategies tailored specifically for college students. Visit the Rocket Restore website to discover tips and techniques to enhance your sleep quality and overall wellness.

We encourage all students to take part in these activities and embrace the opportunity to prioritize mental health. Let’s come together to create a supportive community that values rest and well-being. Join us for a week dedicated to self-care and awareness — because you have the power to do more for your mental health.

For more information about the week’s events and resources, please visit the Invonet webpage or the Counseling Center website. Let’s all commit to falling into wellness this October.
