Cancer is a disease that affects almost half of the population, and though there is no cure, learning more can help.

That is where a program like I Can Cope comes in. Through educating those affected by cancer, they can be prepared to handle each step in the journey of overcoming the disease.

An I Can Cope presentation is coming to The University of Toledo Medical Center Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. Cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, family members and friends are invited to attend the free event on Health Science Campus in Collier Building Room 1000B.

The discussion will be lead by Kristi Mason, UTMC clinical dietitian, and will focus on nutrition during and after cancer treatment. Most people do not know what to expect when a person has to have cancer treatment, and diet is one aspect that is often forgotten.
